Lahori Kabab is a great little hole in the wall in “Curry Hill”.
I enjoy coming to this little hole in the wall where it is a lot of home cooking and caters to many of the delivery people, Uber Eats and Door dash drivers, cabbies and members of the Traffic Police on the NYPD. It is always crowded in the afternoon for lunch.
I love all the appetizer foods for snacks when I am researching the area for my blog, “MywalkinManhattan.com” traveling to Kips Bay. There is a nice selection of freshly made items both appetizers and entrees.

The restaurant is not the fanciest. The restaurant is normally filled with bicycle messengers, doorman and taxi drivers, who I trust the most for reasonably good food that will ‘stick to your ribs’. It is lined with booths on both sides of the restaurant and the counter in the back has shelves lined with all the entrees and other delicious foods. I like the Indian Pop music they play while you are eating.

On my first trip to the restaurant, I had the Chicken Samosa’s ($1.50), which are a type of flaky turnover, that is filled with ground chicken and spices wrapped in dough casing. They are baked to perfection and are packed with flavor.

I also tried the Chicken Kebab, which came with a side salad and a yogurt dipping sauce. A few squeezes of the lemon and it was a very nice snack. The kebab had such a complex of flavors from all the spices.

On my second trip when I was touring the neighborhood for another blog, I tried the Chicken Roll ($1.50) which was a type of chicken croquette. It was filled with ground chicken and curry and when served with the yogurt sauce it cools down all the spices.

The service is very nice and the staff is a help when needing to know what is what. There are a lot of decisions to make from the long list of entrees that you can choose from.
On a recent trip, I was starved and had a little bit of everything. I had a Chicken Samosa, a Potato Samosa and a Chicken Roll again. When they are frankly made, they are so good. What I like is the selection of finger foods is perfect if you want a snack or a full meal. The guys will heat them up for you whether you want to eat in or take them with you.

The Potato Samosa’s are delicious. Filled with spices and some puréed potatoes of various varieties and what looked like eggplant mixed in, these have a different taste than a usually turnover. The flaky crust is perfect fried, and it has such a nice crisp taste and perfect with the yogurt sauce.

The conversation is always so lively at the restaurant in both Arabic and Hindi. I can tell there is a lot of debating going on here. Also a lot of discussions about soccer games.
What is fun is looking over at the other tables to see what everyone else was eating and there is an interesting looking omelet that they serve with flat bread that looked so good at the other table. There are some things on the menu I will have to try next time I come in for lunch or dinner.
